This proves that the 707 is still very valuable.... Israel is a rich country and could have dream liners in the Air Force yet, the 707 can do the job and has proven itself for years. A great airplane continues to be great and timeless...they can keep them flying, no need to replace them. The US Air Force has kept their 707s and KC 135s and plans to continue using them...as long as the maintenance is kept up, they can continue flying.... many aviation enthusiasts appreciate the original jet engines as they are....yes they are loud and emit smoke, and it is acceptable because they are first generation jets and the Air Force is allowed to fly them as they are with no hush kits. The B-52s are from the same era as the 707s and they are kept flying. These are great aircraft and still very valuable. In fact, take a good look at them They are so well designed by forward thinking engineers, they still look futuristic and sleek. In the opinion of many, they are better looking than today's airliners. The typical 2 engine airliner is less interesting...with oversized engines, flexible wings smokeless and quiet...is boring and makes you yawn..... yes they save money however, these first generation jets B-52 and 707, have been kept flying because they took make money for their owners. and when they taxi to the runway and place their jets on takeoff thrust, you hear that distinctive roar,and ground shaking rumble and you get reminded of what a real jet aircraft should sound like.....a rocket with wings....and it is still impressive just the way like when they first entered service as they replaced the propelled driven aircraft. People rushed to the airport to see them.... and today in 2024, we are lucky to see them still around!!!!! Bravo Israeli Air Force!!!
